About the Estate

Las Tolas Estate coffee is produced at an altitude of around 1500 to 1800 meters above sea level. The farm is located in Las Tolas, Gualea, Ecuador. This place was inhabited by the Yumbos, an ethnic group dedicated to trade and agriculture, between 800 AD - 1700 AD. This group is known for its artificial soil (made by man) and cangagua mounds known as "Tolas", from where the name of the coffee comes from. There are tolas from 10 cm to 4 m high that can all be seen on the farm. The soils fed by meters of volcanic ash from thousands of years ago make the land very fertile. Beautiful scenery and delicious coffee.
