About this coffee
Pieter Johannes Marie Keijsers is a Dutch farmer who moved to Brazil in the 1990s for an internship and ended up forging a career in agribusiness. After dabbling in poultry farming and peanut exports, he became interested in coffee and in 2008 founded his own farm, Lloc Maracatu, near the city of São Sebastião do Paraíso. Maracatu is a 70-hectare farm located between 980 and 1000 m above sea level. Pieter has spent the last few years improving quality, planting shade trees and experimenting with fermentation techniques to increase the quality and complexity of the drink.
