Kenia - Kiambu Gulmarg SL34 – Natural

This naturally processed, single-varietal SL34 batch comes from the Gulmarg Estate in Kiambu, Kenya. Gulmarg is a 145-hectare coffee estate originally established by British settlers, but is now one of 6 estates owned and operated by Sasini, a publicly traded company with majority Kenyan capital. Sasini estates have long placed an emphasis on equity and community. For farm workers this means providing housing, early childhood education, union membership and guaranteed pay above the minimum wage. In partnership with Olam Specialty and over 30 of our clients, they have also been able to invest further in the local Njenga Karume Primary School. This has been done primarily through the construction of a new computer lab to equip students with the IT skills needed to maximise opportunities in an increasingly digital world.
